Section 14: Setup for Shared Network or Cloud Drive

NextKast can utilize a shared network or local folder as its system folder location, allowing multiple instances of NextKast to work on the same music library, playlist, configuration, and voice tracking.

Setup Instructions:

  1. Create the System Folder: This folder can be a cloud-synced folder (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox in mirror mode) or a shared network folder on your internal network.
  2. Select Shared Folder: In NextKast, go to the settings window and choose the folder location.
  3. Setup on Additional Systems: For each additional NextKast instance, select the same shared folder and restart the application.
  4. Migration: If migrating, copy all contents from the existing NextKast directory to the new folder location.
  5. Primary Sharing: The main playout computer should host the shared folder in a network setup.

This setup allows for efficient, synchronized use of resources across multiple instances of NextKast.
