RDS and Meta Data Transmission

15.1 Setting up RDS and Other Meta Transmission

In the Broadcast Settings of NextKast, you can configure what metadata you want to send to RDS, HTTP, or TCP systems to update metadata dynamically. This flexibility allows you to customize how and what information is broadcast to different devices or services.

Configuring Metadata Transmission:

  1. Access Broadcast Settings:
    • Open NextKast and go to the Broadcast Settings window.
  2. Select Metadata Fields:
    • Choose the metadata you want to transmit. This could include song title, artist name, album, or any other information relevant to your broadcast.
  3. Define the Transmission Path:
    • In the designated field, type the path to where you want to send the metadata. Use the key provided at the bottom of the window to specify which data to send.
    • For example, if you need to send the song artist and title, type @S in the field. This will automatically format the transmission to include the specified data.
  4. Protocol Selection:
    • The protocol used (HTTP, TCP, or UDP) is dictated by the specific field where you enter the path. Ensure that the receiving system supports the protocol you are using.
  5. Save Your Settings:
    • Settings in NextKast save automatically when the Broadcast Settings window is closed, so there is no need for a manual save. Just ensure all details are correct before exiting the window.

By following these steps, you can customize and control how metadata is sent from NextKast to various systems, enhancing the quality and relevance of your broadcasts.
