The Search Played feature is designed to help generate reports for royalty agencies by allowing users to view and export a log of all tracks played during a specified period. Follow these steps to create a played search report:
Accessing the Played Search Window:
Navigate to the main automation screen.
You can access the played search window via the Playlist Rotation screen.
Once the Playlist Rotation screen is active, clicking on it again will open the Played Log Search window.
Setting the Date Range:
In the Played Log Search window, set the desired date range using the From and To date buttons.
Select the start and end dates for the period you wish to search.
Leave the search field blank to display all tracks played during the specified time.
Exporting the Played Data:
Click on the Export to CSV button to generate a comma-delimited file.
The exported file will include fields such as Artist, Title, Album, Listener Count, Play Counts, and more, which can be sent to royalty agencies.
Important Considerations:
Make sure to check the Plays checkbox when exporting the CSV for royalties, as this will count the number of plays per song rather than the number of listeners.
If you are using the online encoder, this setting is essential for accurate reporting.
Additional Access Points:
The Played Search can also be accessed in the Live Assist Playout window.
Look for the icon with a paper and a small clock to open the played search in the Live Assist Playout window, where the process remains the same.
