Section 4.3: Log Editor

The Log Editor in NextKast OnAir provides powerful tools for managing and editing daily logs, offering flexibility and control over your station’s programming and operations.

Key Features of the Log Editor

  1. View and Edit Daily Logs: Right-click on any date folder to view the entire day’s log. This feature allows users to edit, move, and insert new tracks from the library as needed, providing a comprehensive view and full control over the day’s scheduled content. To insert a track double click the position, this will bring up the search and insert window. Find and Select new track and right click and select insert from list.
  2. Verify Scheduled Log: The Log Editor also allows for user to click on track scheduled and see all occurances of that track in that days log. This allows a zoomed out view of how popular songs are scheduled.
  3. Full-Screen Live Log View: The Log Editor can be used as a full-screen live log display in station studios, especially where multiple screens are available. This function is particularly useful for monitoring the current playlist and making live adjustments during broadcasts. Check the Live checkbox to enable.
  4. Filter and Manage Category Types: The Log Editor includes filtering options that allow users to quickly view traffic logs, imaging, and music only for the entire day.
  5. Verify/Analyze Broken Rules: The Log Editor also includes an option to view songs that were schedule and broke scheduling rules. The tracks that had to break rules to schedule will be indicated by a red backround in the row. To view the broken rule report left click on position, the report will be displyed and will indicated what caused the schedule rule issue.

These features are available in all versions of NextKast OnAir, including Pro, Broadcast, and On-Air editions, enabling consistent and efficient management of your station’s daily operations.
